Founder and owner of Karachi Tank Cleaning
Ahmar Shoaib founded Karachi Tank Cleaning in 2007 and has run it ever since. He holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Karachi. He set the cleaning procedure the company follows, decides which disinfectants are used, and writes and reviews the content on this website.
During his studies and his early professional years, Ahmar saw how most water and industrial tanks in Karachi were being cleaned. The labour was untrained. Chemicals were unsafe or used by guesswork. There were no procedures for entering a confined space, and nothing was documented.
He came to see that the gap was not only in how well the tanks were cleaned. It was in knowledge: of chemistry, of safety, and of how to control a process. In 2007 he started Karachi Tank Cleaning to bring proper technical standards to work that was mostly informal and unsafe.
The company began from a modest setup, with limited capital and a small team. The first years were hard. Customers were used to cheap, informal services, and persuading building societies, factories and commercial clients to pay for professional, documented cleaning took persistence.
Through that period Ahmar supervised the jobs himself. He trained the workers in the right procedures and brought in safer and more effective disinfection methods, drawing on his chemical engineering background.
Over the years the work widened from household water tanks to commercial and industrial tanks, including large underground RCC tanks. He built a workforce trained in confined space entry, high-pressure jet cleaning and proper sludge removal, and put in place the systematic processes and safety standards that separate the company from informal operators.
That work earned the trust of housing societies, factories, hospitals and commercial buildings across Karachi. Some of them are named on our clients page.
Ahmar continues to oversee the quality of the work and stays hands-on, making sure each job meets the standard he set when he started. The company now completes four to five home jobs a day, alongside its commercial and industrial work, with a team of more than ten.
His view has stayed the same since 2007: tank cleaning is not just manual labour. It is a technical service that takes knowledge, discipline and responsibility.
The pages on this website that explain how the work is done are written and reviewed by Ahmar: the service procedure, the chemicals we use, and how we work safely. He also writes the articles on our blog. How that content is prepared and checked is set out in our editorial policy.
